FBC MINISTRIES

Angel Tree - This program provides Christmas gifts for children whose parents are incarcerated.

Benevolence Fund - Deacons use funds to provide for emergencies for church members and others, i.e. gas to get home, a motel room, help with fuel bills, etc.

Christmas Baskets - Deacons fill and deliver food baskets a few days before Christmas. Approximately 20 families are helped each year.

Fair Ministry - Members/friends distribute a cup of cool water in the name of the Lord at the Shenandoah County Fair. Contact a member of the Missions Committee.

Missions Committee - Other opportunities throughout the year, include: Easter Egg Hunt, Shoe Boxes at Christmas, Seeds for Africa, etc.

Prayer Chain - A telephone chain is available to request prayer for special/emergency needs. Telephone: 459-3000.

Ministries supported through our Church budget:

Food Pantry - Bring staple goods to the church and place in the boxes that are in the hallway by the church office. (Cereal, peanut butter, spaghetti and sauce, etc.) Contact United Methodist Church at 459-4144.

The Gym Ministry - Roy Marshall operates The Gym at 109A North Main Street, Woodstock, Telephone: 459-2782. He provides food and counseling to those who come to him.

Habitat for Humanity - Financial support and volunteers are needed to help build housing for those who qualify. Telephone: 984-7794.

Pregnancy Center - Jean Martin, Director, 82 Landfill Road, Edinburg, 984-4671. The Center needs people to help at the Center washing and sorting baby clothes and maternity clothes which are lent out as needed. Counselors are needed to take training to help clients. Donations of baby food, diapers, formula, etc. are appreciated. A list is included in their newsletter, and also in our church newsletter. There is a Prayer Chain for special concerns. Fundraisers during the year include auctions and dinners (underwritten by individuals or companies, no charge to those who attend) with opportunity to make a pledge or a contribution.

Young Life - Shenandoah County Young Life, P.O. Box 175, Woodstock. Financial support, prayer warriors and volunteers to help in schools are needed.

DISCOVERING MY LIFE MISSION CLASS 401

Class 401 will be taught at a later time. The purpose of this class is to help people make a commitment to share the Good News with others. Registration is required by phone or email (459-3000, fbcwdstk@shentel.net).
